While Willemijn was busy giving her presentation, I spent the arvo in the shade, reading the Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy (a trilogy in five parts)

We were walking from Bondi to Coogee beach to have dinner at a friend's place, seeking shelter at Bronte Beach during a heavy shower.

These beautiful little (well, little...) critters are fruitbats, or flying foxes. Thousands of them hang in trees in Sydney's botanical gardens (don't let them shit on your head!). They have wingspans of up to 50cm.

4am, staggering to the bathroom, I *almost* stepped on this Huntsman spider. They're harmless (well they can bite and it hurts, but they won't kill you) and quite big! I'd say about 15cm wide.
We spent our last day in Sydney playing in the shorebreak of Bronte Beach
